Hello, I am Keisha Nesbitt BD/PD. I am the Owner & Principle of Divine Vessel LLC. I offer Birth & Postpartum Doula Services, along with continuous support for the birthing family. I also offer Distance Reiki Sessions. I am a Herbalist. I also create and curate Wildcrafted Irish Moss Infusion, Elderberry Syrup Elixirs, Skin & Body care products. I am a mother of three, wife, still working my 9-to-5, and most importantly...ME.
A lot of hats to wear? MOST DEFINITELY!!! I love it all. Divine Vessel LLC was created with all of that in mind.
For years, I dreamed of being a doula. I slept it. Endlessly talked about with friends and family. Read books. Watched hours of programming. However, I didn’t follow up with action. I often discouraged myself not to do it because I lived in an extremely competitive city for doulas, NYC(Brooklyn born and raised, by the way.☺️). So, I continued to visualize myself being a doula.
In 2016, I got married to my wonderful husband, Joseph. We relocated with our children and job to Charlotte, NC. Slower pace. Fresher air. More time to think. I fell in love quickly with our new life in the South. Two years faster we settled in, I saw that one of my favorite doulas, Valerie The Doula, had openings for her Birthing Little Humans 12-week Doula program. I instantly jumped on it. I cried, danced, and ran through my house. Finally...ACTION! Within the first three weeks of the start of my classes, I found out that I was pregnant. Whoa. I prayed for this pregnancy. I was completely overjoyed!
Those 12 weeks were brutal at times while combating morning sickness, fatigue, hormonal fluctuation, and everything else. I finally completed my certification August of 2018 while on vacation🙌🏽. January 2019, I gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. 2019 was a year of creating my business while adjusting to baby life. I was super-focused on logos, services, and most importantly, how to obtain my LLC. By the end of 2019, all of that had been accomplished!
Divine Vessel LLC was ready to go! 2020 was going to be the year of networking, visiting different facilities, and putting myself out there. I was soooo ready, until....the world changed.
Coronavirus. That virus stopped everything. Normalcy was a thing of the past. I focused on how to keep me and my family safe. We were pretty healthy. We were already taking Elderberry Syrup and Irish Moss for some years now, so I know that we were ahead of the game. Then I started getting requests from people that I made the items for season ailments. Then, the orders started rolling in. NYC was hit hard with COVID-19, and I wanted to help all I could. I worked tirelessly to fulfill orders(I had time off due to my job quarantining employees to reduce exposure). Then, I realized that I could add these items to my website that was being built. That’s how it all started.
Sometimes what we visualized for ourselves turn out differently than our ideal plans. Divine Vessel’s merchandise took off before my doula services, to this day. I am not mad about that, because I have been able to provide services to those who understand that HEALTH IS WEALTH. I have learned to become more versatile and broaden my spectrum. I have learned to think outside of the box, and to become greater than the last product. To constantly work on my business and myself. I have been patient/impatient. I have loved/hated. I have been invigorate/depressed. All of the feelings imaginable that comes with being a female entrepreneur. There are times that I was blending while holding a teething baby. Working before I went to work. Wanting to completely give up(I do that a few times a year😂). I can’t because my children are watching me. As you saw on my Instagram page(divine_vesselllc), my youngest son was using his imaginary blender. WE HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING NO MATTER WHAT!!! As Nipsey said, “Life is a marathon.”.
This is Divine Vessel LLC’s story in a nutshell. There is so much more to come. So much more to do. I hope that one day, there will be so much more to tell. I thank EVERYONE that has supported my business within the last year. Thank you for allowing me to grow, make mistake(and fix them), and improve. Thank you for the word of mouth, love, and encouragement. Thank you to my husband for being my support system, my soundboard, and my tester. Thank you yo my Mama for being my plug!!! Without you, we would be at a standstill. Thank you to my Bro Dane Castillo for that FIRST conversation that inspired me to just leap! You have given me valuable knowledge, and insight into entrepreneurship(you need to drop that fragrance line😩). For all of your melanated skincare needs, please check out his website stocksteady.com.
